We believe quality mental health care should be within reach. Innerwell accepts most major insurance plans in California, and we also offer flexible self-pay options. Whether you're using insurance or paying out of pocket, you'll know exactly what to expect — no surprise bills.
We’re proud to partner with people at every stage of their healing journey. Here’s what some of our California-based patients have shared about their experience with Innerwell.
Get answers to the most frequently asked questions about Innerwell ketamine treatment.
We’d be happy to help! Feel free to text us at (866) 611-4325 or schedule a free 15-minute consultation with our team. We also encourage you to go through our FAQs to find answers to your questions.
Our 8 Dose Foundation program is ideal for patients with mild-to-moderate depression or anxiety, including when caused by stressful life events such as the loss of a loved one and burnout. Patients with PTSD, OCD, and social anxiety are also suitable for this program.
In our 8-dose program, most patients take ketamine once per week, but you’ll receive a treatment program that’s uniquely tailored to your situation.
Our 24 Dose Extended Program is ideal for patients with chronic, severe depression, or treatment-resistant depression, who have not responded to conventional mental health treatment options. This is an intensive clinical program that typically involves twice-weekly ketamine sessions.
Regardless of which program you choose, your Psychiatric Clinician will make sure you're on the program that's best for you once you have your first appointment.
Yes, we offer a variety of ongoing care programs for patients who are interested in continuing ketamine treatment after completing their previous program. You and your Psychiatric Clinician will decide on a treatment frequency and dose that works for you; if you move forward, you will continue to have regular check-ins with them.
Our continued care programs are designed as two-month programs. Depending on the treatment frequency you and your Psychiatric Clinician agree upon, you may elect to continue with one of the following programs:
Weekly program (8 doses) - $800
Bi-weekly program (4 doses) - $600
Monthly program (2 doses) - $400
No need to worry! You can choose either program and move forward. You’ll be able to speak with a Psychiatric Clinician who can help you decide which program is best for you and make any changes that are needed without incurring any additional fees.
There are a variety of ketamine administration methods, including intravenous, intramuscular, intranasal, and oral. At Innerwell, we use an oral rapid dissolve tablet which allows you to easily and safely self-administer ketamine at-home. When it's time for your medicine experience, simply place the rapid dissolve tablet(s) in your mouth and in seconds they turn into a liquid. We ask that you hold this liquid in your mouth for a few minutes before spitting it out. Once complete, you can slip your eye mask on, lie back, and you should feel the effects of ketamine begin within minutes.
Upon purchasing a ketamine care program, your journey with Innerwell begins immediately. You will gain instant access to the Innerwell Portal, where the first step involves engaging in our patient onboarding process.
During onboarding, you'll provide essential details about your physical and mental health history, typically completing this step within about 20 minutes. Once onboarding is finished, you gain the ability to select your Innerwell clinician and schedule your Medical Consult.
For most patients, scheduling the Medical Consult takes approximately 3-5 business days, subject to clinician availability. In this initial session, your Psychiatric Clinician will assess the safety and appropriateness of ketamine treatment for your unique situation.
Upon acceptance into an Innerwell care program, your first two ketamine doses will be dispatched. You can expect to receive the tracking information via UPS within 2-3 business days although total delivery time is typically between 3-5 business days, varying based on your location within the United States. Please be mindful that we do require an adult signature upon delivery or pick-up.
At Innerwell, we believe in providing flexibility to make your mental health journey as seamless as possible. For your convenience, we offer several payment options. You can choose to pay with insurance if you are in one of our partnered states, pay out-of-pocket (via our Self-Pay option), and/or explore monthly payment plans for certain services. Additionally, we accept payment through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) cards.
If you have any specific questions about payment options or need assistance in selecting the right choice for you, feel free to reach out to our team at care@helloinnerwell.com. Your wellbeing is our priority, and we're here to ensure your experience with Innerwell is as comfortable and accessible as possible.
In most cases, we accept cards issued by healthcare benefit plans such as Health Saving Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). If you’re unable to make a payment with these methods, please check with the card’s processor, or your benefits manager or administrator, as eligible expenses are ultimately determined by them.
We are currently accepting a select number of insurance providers in partnered states like California, New York, Washington and Colorado. Stay informed by checking our list of accepted providers here.
For patients outside of our partnered states, we are also committed to making behavioral health services accessible to everyone. To further this commitment, we are actively working on expanding our list of accepted insurance providers, and establishing partnerships beyond our partnered states.
In the meantime, we can always issue a superbill for out-of-network (OON) reimbursement upon request.
Upon purchasing your ketamine care program, you'll gain access to your Innerwell Portal, enabling you to complete our patient onboarding process and schedule your Initial Evaluation. During this session, your Psychiatric Clinician will assess whether ketamine treatment aligns with your unique needs. If, for any reason, we are unable to accept you into our care, you will receive a full refund if you are paying out-of-pocket via our Self-Pay option. For those paying in conjunction with insurance, a claim will be submitted for your Initial Evaluation, and you'll receive a full refund for Non-Covered Services costs.
At Innerwell, our focus is on creating a personalized care program that is built for each patient’s individual needs. Your starting dose is determined based on a number of factors, including your body weight, your goals with Innerwell, and your comfort level with psychedelics. Typical starting doses are in the 100-400mg range, and some patients work up to the 600-800mg range (rarely higher).
During your first two ketamine experiences, you will be closely monitored to determine the dose and frequency that work best for you. Most patients complete their first two ketamine experiences over the course of two weeks, although for some patients it will be recommended that they take two doses during their first week, if clinically indicated. Once you complete your first two doses you will meet with your psychiatric clinician again to discuss your response to treatment thus far to make any needed adjustments before the remainder of your medication is shipped.
If at any point you would like to discuss your dose with your Psychiatric Clinician, you can message them directly in the Innerwell Portal, or discuss during your monthly check-in appointments.
Ketamine is generally safe when taken with other medications with certain exceptions. Some patients are able to reduce or even taper off of their other psychotropic medications due to the significant benefits derived from ketamine treatment. The decision to adjust your other medications during or after ketamine treatment should only be done in consultation with your Psychiatric Clinician at Innerwell and your treating provider outside of Innerwell.
Ketamine is a legal Schedule III substance, meaning that the FDA has deemed it appropriate for clinicians to prescribe for medical use in many different situations. Based on decades of substantial research demonstrating the mental health applications of Ketamine, psychiatric clinicians are able to legally write “off-label” prescriptions for patients that have these needs.
